Mat Pilates emphasizes the concepts of core strength and stabilization. Students are taught to recruit their “powerhouse” muscles located in the center of their body, that when strengthened properly, offer a solid foundation for any movement. Students are also taught to develop more effective breathing techniques and correct posture. Specialty classes are designed to focus on specific areas of concerns or for specific populations.
Reformer Pilates is a comprehensive exercise method done on an apparatus called the reformer. It is used for strengthening the core, increasing body awareness, and improving flexibility through the spine and lower back. Reformer Pilates, when done at least 2 times per week as recommended, strengthens and protects muscles and joints from injury. Students will learn progressive exercises that will increase core strength, develop proper breathing and correct posture.
TRX Suspension Training is a revolutionary method of leveraged body weight exercise. TRX exercises allow for the use of multiple planes of motion and work multiple muscles and joints simultaneously. You can perform hundreds of exercises that build power, strength, flexibility, balance, mobility, and prevent injuries, all at the intensity you choose and most importantly, in a very safe and effective manner. TRX Suspension Training is fun, different, and a very effective workout.
Ballet Barre Fit is a unique combination of ballet dance moves at the barre & on the floor that incorporates strength exercises, flexibility training and Pilates based core exercises. These exercises are designed to increase core strength, develop proper breathing techniques, correct posture, strengthen and elongate muscles, reduce stress, and improve balance. Prior ballet training is not required.
Hatha Yoga is an hour of traditional Hatha Yoga format that is open to all levels, especially beginners. Asanas (poses), will strengthen, stretch and relax your body and mind. Class begins with a warm-up and ends with a light savasana meditation. A perfect way to end or begin your day.
Vinyasa Yoga incorporates "breath-synchronized movement" by linking your postures with inhales and exhales. The practice of these postures will build strength, balance and flexibility. Practice of various postures can help with sleep, digestion, metabolism, and overall wellness. The development of breath can be a helpful tool for calming and focus both on and off the mat.
During this hour long class you will learn the fundamentals of boxing. This includes footwork, boxing combinations, and head movement. Every class starts with jumping rope and ends with stretching.
